V is an updated re-imagining of the 1983 science fiction miniseries, which quickly gained a popular following when it premiered in the fall of 2009. Stephen Jackson serves as Director of Photography for the drama, incorporating visual effects and greenscreen work with more character-driven scenes. Zoic Studios was saddled with providing visual effects for the series, the pilot alone used 240 effects shot - over half which involved actors shot against greenscreen. Jackson relied on ARRI D-21s from Clairmont Camera in Vancouver to film in 4:4:4 color space, working with Digital Imaging Technician Tasos Mentzelopoulos.
