I helped a customer do a round-trip with his Alexa footage edited in Final Cut and colored in the free version of Resolve.  Here's the steps, it's pretty straight forward:

1. Import your footage and edit as normal in Final Cut Pro 7.
2. Export an EDL from FCP7 and save in XLM format.
3. Open Resolve and log in.
4. Add a new Project in the Project List and label appropriately.
5. If you filmed in LogC and want to get to REC709 before correcting, click on the LUT tab at the top right and select the 3D Alexa LUT as in input LUT, output LUT or Display LUT as per your requirements.
6. Click Conform tab at the bottom and find the Timeline Management window on the left.
7. Load the EDL you exported from FCP and make sure footage looks proper.
8. Click Color tab at the bottom, color away!
9. When you are finished coloring and ready to go back into FCP for output, click the "Session" menu option at the top and Render.  (Render will make new video clips to replace the edited footage from Final Cut)
10. Make sure you then go back to the Conform tab and export an EDL (in XML format).
11. Open Final Cut 7, use the Open EDL option and open the XML file made in Resolve.
12. The color corrected footage will appear in a new timeline.  You can now synch back to your audio and output a final video file.

Hope this helps!

DaVinci Resolve 9.0 on display at NAB had basic non-linear editing ability with audio also.
Hopefully this will reduce the need to use FCP when 9.0 is released by the end of this month
