HEY THERE,
I AM A DIT FROM GERMANY AND HAVE JUST BUILT A NEW SETUP FOR THE NEXT PRODUCTION. UNFORTUNATLY THE NEW RETINA MACBOOK DOESN'T BOOT ANYMORE AFTER ISTALLING THE DRIVER FOR QIO E3 SUPPORTED BY SONNETS WEBSITE.
HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THE SAME? HAS SOMEONE AN IDEA?

THANKS IN FORWARD!

Try restarting from the Apple Install CD and from there run remove/uninstall the readerīs driver.    That at least should bring your Mac back to life.

Thanks. Already restored. Unfortunatly since Lion there is no CD/DVD anymore but did load it from the Internet. Actually my Timemachine Backup from the last machine should have worked also, but didn't. Sad.
Going to phone Sonnet today. Apple didn't know this Problem of cause.

So far...

Dear Holger,

please keep us posted about Sonnets anwers and how you fixed the issue.
I assume you're using the Echo Express and the Qio E3 on the MBP Retina?

Yesterday I had contact to Sonnet support. After some forth and back they realized that it must be there driver. They will get a Retina Book in the next days and try to fix the issue.

@Jan: Yes Echo Pro+E3+ Retina Book = not working (now)

For some reason they wait till Apple releases the new softs to fix anything driver related.

I'm still on OSX 10.6.8 Professionally. Same issue we had with Lion on the 17" Macbook Pros.

best of luck,

Just loaded a "new" Version of OSX from the web which is labeled the same as I have installed and now it is working without any extra Sonnet Driver!
Great. But when you get you new machine there is actually the wrong version of OSX installed.

Best.

One can use a Echo Express Pro from Sonnet to connect it via thunderbolt.

Regards.
