I wish to report that we posted new firmware, version 1.1.2 on May 25, 2012.
The firmware is available for download on our website:www.convergent-design.com
This firmware includes support for ARRIRAW in demo mode so everyone with an ALEXA and a Gemini 4:4:4 can fully test our ARRIRAW Option. There will be a permanent watermark in the images when in demo mode.
We felt that including ARRIRAW support, in demo mode, would allow many to test to determine if ARRIRAW was for them. The footage that we create in demo mode can be handled all of the way through post, but there will be a watermark in part of the lower third of the screen.
And, of course, if one purchases and activates the ARRIRAW Option, then there will be no watermark recorded on the images from then on.
Our firmware supports ARRIRAW in 23.976 (23.98), 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 48, 50, 59.94 and 60 frames per second.
And we support HD-SDI, Dual Link, 3G, and Dual 3G for the video inputs.
For Rental Houses, we have implemented a way to disable the ARRIRAW Option for a given rental.
For non-ARRIRAW applications, we have added the ability to record HD-SDI, 1920 x 1080 up to 60 frames per second.
We now support in HD:
1080p23.976 (23.98), 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94, 60
And for both HD and ARRIRAW, one can press record in the camera to start the Gemini 4:4:4 (camera dependent, ALEXA's, Canon C-300, C-500, and Sony F3 and others).
This means that one can use continuously running timecode and still start and stop the Gemini 4:4:4 from the camera.
