Hi !
I have a problem with the 64GB cards and 2008 Model Mac Pro and Mac Book Pro. The 64GB don't mount. I installed the new driver and UDF driver but no luck on these machines. On 2010 Model MacBook Pro for example no problem so far. I updated also the driver for the QIO. I see in the Kernel Log that the card is showing up on the PCI Bus but not mounting.... Other thing is, that there are so few cards out, that the rental houses can't give them for testing out.
anyone?
thx rainer

You might want to update the older MacBook Pro to the newest Apple OS. We have an older MacBook Pro with the new Apple OS and use it on set with the SxS cards.

I uninstalled the SxS driver and did then the OS update and the card mounted without the driver. very interesting... I had no need to install the new SxS driver....
so for the new 64GB cards be sure to be on Mac OSX 10.7.3

Rainer,
What does it say in the disk utility for that drive/mount point?

there is a driver conflict going on... i will come up with a detailed info later... if i boot the machine on 10.7.3 with the cards inserted in the QIO at boot, the right driver constellation is loaded and the cards are mounting. I can then also unmount the cards and reinsert them and they mount. stay tuned

first of all I installed on a second partition a clear OSX 10.7.3 without anything more installed then the newest QIO driver and SxS device driver. same situation as above. If the cards are inserted after boot they are present as device but getting no mountpoint. one reason is, that the udf driver is not loaded by the system. it seems that the trigger is not going through (no hot-swap) when the card is inserted. the problem is the same with the 32GB cards in this constellation. I then installed the sony udf driver but this one is also not triggered and not loaded. A manual load of the kernel extensions fails. I thought on writing a script that the drivers are forced to load at boot, but thats not the solution. When I boot with the cards inserted and they mount, everything is running normal till I do a new reboot, so it is possible to work. Interesting thing is that the OS is loading always the Mac OS UDF driver. Never the Sony UDF one. Here are the Links to the List of Kernel Extensions loaded: card not mounting: http://dcs.co.at/sxs/kextstat_card_not_mounting.txt mounting when inserted at boot: http://dcs.co.at/sxs/kextstat_card_mounted.txtnot mounting with Sony udf driver installed: http://dcs.co.at/sxs/kextstat_mounted_sonyUDFdriver.txtPicture of the Systeminformation of the inserted but not mounted card: http://dcs.co.at/sxs/systeminfo.pngregards rainer
