2880x1620 to the SD Card?

Yes, just choose .ARI from the file type selection in the GRAB configuration set up.

That's fantastic! I wonder how many Alexa users actually know this, as it's easy to overlook.
It is for sure extra value for using the Alexa EV & Alexa EV+ ...

Sure.
But, in the Jan 26th 2012 ARRI ALEXA User-Manual SUP 5-0 5-1
It says:
"The images inherit the setting of the REC OUT. If it is set to ARRIRAW, frame grabs are currently not posible. For all other formats, users can choose from .jpg, .tif or .dpx file formats in this screen."
Also it says:
"Grabbing an image can take up to 45 seconds, depending on the chosen file format. During this time, no further images can be grabbed."
Will ARRI make it possible to speed this time up in future Alexa software updates?
Or maybe allow Grabs to be recorded to the SxS card?

ARRIRAW frame grabs are possible with the current firmware.
We did overlooked this when the manual was updated. Sorry about that.
REC OUT must be set to ARRIRAW, file format then is set to .ari for the grabs.

We are now getting ARRI RAW grabs / stills to the SD card on shoots that we are using using the SxS cards.
We use the ARRI RAW Converter.
The results have been amazing! The recent SUP update is definitely added value with the Alexa!
