An update:

I took delivery on a Sony PVM-1741 17" OLED monitor.  Spectacular image.  Sharp, contrasty, CRT like dynamic range.  Blacks are deep, skin tones look great.  Alexa images jump off the screen... it shows off how good the camera is.

Highly recommended.

Yes, that is an issue.... I solve it by selecting 29.97 out from my Monitor Out/Rec Out.

The Flicker free upgrade is available, but it requires you to send it in to Sony, I've had one of my 2541's in for about two weeks now... Even with the flicker it's a great monitor, and setting the MON-OUT to 29.97 does get rid of the flicker, but it also introduces some interlacing artifacts that are very faint, but still there.

I know what you are saying about the "interlacing" issue, but the OLED technology makes an amazing picture.  I honestly had no idea how good the Alexa looked as I've been only viewing it on 720p monitors for the last year.  The Sony has a true CRT like dynamic range and nice off angle viewing.

Have you seen the small OLED from Sony?  I know it's not 1080, but i'd be curious to hear your thoughts?

What about the Sony PVM-1741??

I am thinking about buying this one for on-set 1st light grading. Do you think it's good enough for that?

I use the PVM-740 with my Alexa-Plus and love it. Sony's OLED technology is perfect for critical focus, white, and black balance.
